Job description

System Administrator (System Administrator-General)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate, Experienced System Administrator to join our dynamic team on Kirtland AFB or Albuquerque, NM.

Position Responsibilities - Associate Level 2:

  • Assists in the system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Provides support for the design, validation and implementation of changes to computing delivery systems.
  • Performs system monitoring and backup and restore procedures to ensure system and data availability.
  • Administers users system access to meet security requirements. Performs problem resolution as appropriate.

Position Responsibilities - Experienced Level 3:

  • Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
  • Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems.
  • Administers users system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements.
  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Must have an Active U.S. Secret

This position will primarily be for 1st shift, but mission needs my require 2nd or 3rd shift support.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Associate Level 2

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years' experience operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or macOS.
  • 2+ years' experience with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • 2+ years' experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • 2+ years' experience with hardware, including servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.
  • 2+ years' experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
  • DOD Secret clearance required.

Experienced Level 3:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or macOS.
  • 3+ years' experience with Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • 3+ years' experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • 3+ years' experience with hardware, including servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experienced Level 3: More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • DOD Top Secret clearance preferred.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate Level 2: Typically, 2 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degrees (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred but not required.

Experienced Level 3: Typically, 3 or more years' related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degrees (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred but not required.
