About JerseySTEM
All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.
JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization's gender-equity agenda.
Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K-12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
Overview
This is a pro-bono volunteer position.
JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8.
We are actively seeking a dedicated Google Gsuite System Admin (TECH.GWS) to join our TECH Department. This is a pro-bono volunteer position that plays a vital role in managing and optimizing our Google Workspace environment, ensuring seamless digital operations for our organization.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the TECH team to ensure Google Workspace aligns with organizational needs.
  • Ability to write, test, and deploy custom scripts using Google Apps Script (GAS) or Python (via Google Cloud Platform) to automate repetitive administrative requests.
  • Utilize Google Workspace Admin Console alongside Google Apps Manager (GAM) to execute bulk operations and directory modifications
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert, collecting user feedback and collaborating with Google Workspace support to resolve technical limitations
  • Responsible for user accounts, security settings, and applications.
  • Implement best practices for user provisioning, data security, and system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Google Workspace.
  • Stay informed about Google Workspace updates and new features.
  • Train and support users in leveraging Google Workspace tools effectively.
  • Assist with the integration of Google Workspace with other JerseySTEM systems.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings to align on objectives and initiatives.
  • 6 hours per week, 6 month commitment

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace administration and tools.
  • Experience and familiarity with deploying generative AI in a non profit setting.
  • Understanding of Gemini AI features, data confidentiality, and compliance management.
  • Resourceful problem-solver with a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with Google Workspace security and compliance.
  • Knowledge of single sign-on (SSO) and account provisioning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a virtual organization using digital tools.
  • Commitment to JerseySTEM's mission of providing STEM education to underserved middle school girls.
