Job Summary:
The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies is a fast-growing government service provider, and they are seeking a Mid-level System Administrator to support their government customer in Laurel, MD. The role involves operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations, and servers, while ensuring data integrity and compliance with established standards.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
• Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
• Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
• Plans and implements for the modernization of servers.
• Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
• Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
• Supports end users through direct communication to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another related field.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of Systems Administration experience in a secure DoD environment.
• Experience with complex software installations and upgrades.
• Experience working with workstations and servers.
• Experience in providing end user customer service for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
• United States Citizenship required. (Green Card not acceptable)
• Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Preferred:
• May be required to meet additional DCWF 8140/8570 certification requirements.
