Join ALLETE's Cyber Technology Services department to assist the Voice and Video Team. Assist collaboration experts and customers support and use several network based systems including: telephone, contact center, video conferencing, video security, digital display, conference room, and several other collaboration technologies used in a large enterprise environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement and support a range of collaboration tools used across ALLETE's family of companies, including:
    • Cisco Unified Communications Manager
    • Genesys PureCloud customer experience platform
    • Cisco video conferencing endpoints
    • Microsoft Teams, video conferencing, and telephone system
    • Milestone video management system with Axis security cameras
    • Conference room audio visual systems
  • Project management and assistance

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related cyber-technology field with an expected graduation date between to May 2027 and June 2028.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as this position requires some travel.
  • Candidates may be subject to assessment of skills, job match, or aptitude.

DETAILS & DURATION OF INTERNSHIP:
  • This internship will report in person to Duluth, MN.
  • The internship will be up to full time during summer and breaks and part time with a minimum of 16 hours per week during the school year.
  • ALLETE will comply with college requirements.
  • Hours and duration are subject to change based on company need.

  • Contact Center technology including IVR, integration with business applications and moves, adds, and change user configurations

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • The ability to balance working independently but also knowing when to seek help
  • Microsoft Server 2016 and newer and/or Windows 11
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell
  • Familiarity with coding languages such as Python and JavaScript
  • Network based communications systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer software problems
  • Video over IP, video conferencing, and video security system
  • SQL, PL/SQL
  • Cisco networking and general networking concept
  • Cybersecurity best practices
  • Strong Technical Writing and verbal communications skills
