Job description

JOB TITLE: Senior Systems Administrator

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 11, 2026

SUMMARY:

The Senior Systems Administrator oversees the administration of Information Technology (IT) systems and cloud-based services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to implementation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows/Azure domain, M365 services, MS-SQL, and line of business applications. Activities include troubleshooting software, and networking issues, as well as ensuring that all computing operations run with optimal performance and security.

This position offers a challenging but flexible environment and exposure to a variety of applications and systems, as well as a path to future advancement within a mid-sized organization. The ideal candidate will have enough practical experience to take the reins of our Azure and Windows environments and lead the continued transition to cloud based systems. Strong written and analytical skills needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configures, administers, andmonitorsWindows/Azure AD domain, Exchange,SQL,variouslineof business applications, and administrative management applications.
  • Audits network security anddatacompliance requirements.
  • Diagnoseand resolvehardware, software, networking, and system issues.
  • Monitorssystem performance to ensure smooth and securenetwork operation.
  • Audit andmonitoruser permissions andaccessto informationincludingdata.
  • Research and recommendnew approachesto improve the network computer systems and applications.
  • Provideselevatedtechnical supportto users.
  • Documents control procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job has nodirect reports but may supervise peersonspecific projectsand tasks.
  • Engages andmanagestechnical supportmanagedservice providers and consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor'sDegree(B.A./B.S.)inComputerScience, InformationSystems,or a related field.
  • OR7years of related experience and/or training
  • ORequivalent combination of education and experience
  • Education in Microsoft MCSA, Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft Azure related Certificates
  • Computer skills required:Demonstrated experience in the administration ofMS Active Directory,Azure,Entra, Intune,SharePoint, TeamsWindows Server, DNS / DHCP services, Microsoft RemoteDesktop, Intune MDM, Azure ServicesWindows Active Directory,Azure AD,M365Exchange,Teams andSharepoint;proficiency in all MS Office applications.
  • Other experience desired:Project Management,Zero Trust, Varonis, Palo Alto Firewall,FamiliarityofMS SQLServer deployment andmanagement,networkconfigurationand troubleshooting,andVMWare/VCenter.
  • Ability to learn newand diverseapplications andtechnologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, understand, execute, and communicate root causes and implement solutions to resolve issues
  • Must be self-motivating and able to work with minimum supervision and make cost-efficientdecisions
