Job Description
The SYSMAN (MCM) team is responsible for the health, packaging, and distribution of software and updates across the enterprise. They ensure that thousands of endpoints (laptops, desktops, and servers) are uniform, secure, and equipped with the necessary tools for employees to work. They perform extensive log review for various troubleshooting efforts with imaging. Create boundary diagrams to visualize all assets that are managed on the network.
 
The SYSMAN (SCOM) Application Team designs, implements, and maintains the enterprise-wide monitoring framework. Their mission is to provide proactive visibility into the IT environment. These include servers, databases, applications, and network devices. This ensures that internal users are alerted to issues before they impact operations.

Bachelors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering
Years of Experience
BS Degree or 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills
  • Deploying software packages and applications to end-user devices.
  • Managing the Software Center, allowing employees to download approved software on demand.
  • Deploying monthly Microsoft updates and third-party patches to mitigate security risks.
  • Assisting with Imaging/PXE boot to set up new company devices.
  • Distributing complex automation sequences that join a computer to the domain, install drivers, and layer on software automatically.
  • Managing large-scale migrations
  • Maintaining the MCM infrastructure itself, including a CAS, Primary sites, Secondary sites, Distribution Points (DPs), and Management Points (MPs).
  • Running reports to determine how many devices are being monitored in MCM and what software is currently installed.
  • Establishing boundaries ensuring devices are imaging from proper and defined locations.
  • Monitoring health and performance of devices in the enterprise.
  • Reviewing data from devices to determine what follow-up actions need to happen.
  • Connecting SCOM to ticketing systems (ServiceNow) so that a critical alert automatically creates a support ticket.
  • Creating custom monitors and rules to track internal applications.
  • Modifying alerts so only actionable issues are reported to the appropriate team.
  • Ensuring the SCOM agent is installed, healthy, and communicating correctly on thousands of endpoint servers.
