    Job Description

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as a subject matter expert providing technical day-to-day coaching and mentorship to the development team under the guidance of the Director of Software Engineering.
    • Drive all aspects of systems design, including performance, scalability, security, etc.
    • Monitor the development activities to ensure architecture and design principles are upheld.
    • Collaborate across SymSoft's business units and customer teams to build consensus on application design, development, and deployment direction and timelines.
    • Collaborate with Product Owners and Technical Leads to prioritize and estimate development efforts.
    • Acts as a thought leader in how technology and applications can improve customer experience and streamline processes.
    • Develop proofs of concepts to "fail fast" on complex projects.
    • Support the development of complex application modules and integrations.
    • Create, update, and execute application release plans.
    • Create and maintain the technical architecture and reference documentation (as needed).
    • Create and maintain deployment pipelines to automate applications or infrastructures' building, testing, and deploying to the cloud and on-premises environments.
    Qualifications
    • Minimum of ten years of related work experience, with at least four years of technical architect experience.
    • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a practical, non-technical manner.
    • Proven self-starter, creative problem solver, and ability to work independently
    • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
    • Experience working on Windows and Linux operating system environments
    • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, both waterfall and Agile
    • Hands-on technical architect experience and comfortable with DevOps practices
    • Experience with Content Management Systems and experience preferred but not required
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferred in Information Technology or Computer Science
    • Experience with Agile/continuous integration/DevOps
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Education:

    • BS or MS in Computer Science
