How much do sweeper jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 12, 2026, the average hourly pay for sweeper in the United States is $15.48, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $14.18 and $16.35 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the duties of a sweeper?

A sweeper's duties include cleaning floors, hallways, and other surfaces using brooms, mops, or vacuum cleaners. They are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in various environments, often following a scheduled routine and adhering to safety standards. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is typically required.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A sweeper typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized skills or experience. High earnings in cleaning or maintenance roles are uncommon without additional certifications, management responsibilities, or working in high-demand environments. Most jobs with such income levels require advanced skills, entrepreneurship, or ownership of a business.

What is the highest paid sweeper?

The highest paid sweepers are typically those working in specialized environments such as industrial or commercial cleaning, or those with extensive experience and certifications. Salaries can vary widely based on location, industry, and level of expertise, with some earning over $50,000 annually. Advanced skills and working in high-demand sectors tend to increase earning potential for sweepers.

What are the typical work shifts and environments for a Sweeper position?

Sweepers often work early morning, daytime, or evening shifts depending on the employer and setting, such as offices, warehouses, factories, or public spaces. The work is primarily performed indoors, but outdoor assignments like parking lot or facility perimeter sweeping are also common. Teams may be small or individual, but coordination with building management, maintenance staff, or supervisors is expected. Being adaptable to various environments and schedules can help you succeed in this role. If you value an active job with routine responsibilities and visible results, sweeping could be a great fit for you.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Sweeper position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sweeper, you need basic cleaning skills, physical stamina, and attention to detail, with most employers requiring no formal education but valuing prior experience in janitorial work. Knowledge of cleaning tools such as brooms, dustpans, industrial vacuums, and sometimes ride-on sweepers is often needed, and safety training may be an asset. Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow directions make someone stand out in this position. These skills ensure that facilities remain clean and safe, supporting a positive and efficient work environment.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Most jobs that pay around $2,000 a day are high-level positions such as specialized surgeons, corporate executives, or successful entrepreneurs. These roles typically require advanced skills, extensive experience, and often involve significant responsibilities or ownership. Such high daily earnings are uncommon in entry-level or manual labor jobs like sweeping.

What is a Sweeper job?

A Sweeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in public or private spaces by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste. They work in various settings such as streets, offices, factories, and schools. Their duties may also include operating cleaning equipment, emptying trash bins, and ensuring walkways remain clear of debris. Sweepers play a crucial role in promoting hygiene and safety in their assigned areas.
