Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring all contractual requirements related to street sweeping, pressure washing, and auto-scrubbing are met for the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry. This position is accountable for the safe and compliant operation of sweeping all assigned areas remain clean, sanitary, safe, and presentable for federal personnel and the public.
WORKING HOURS: 7:30 PM TO 4:30 AM
WORKING DAYS: Full availability (Days are assigned by manager)
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform street sweeping activities within the San Ysidro Border Crossing and other designated areas in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Perform pressure washing activities within the designated areas, ensuring surfaces are cleaned to required standard.
  • Perform auto-scrubbing activities within the designated areas, using equipment safely and effectively.
  • Operate the street sweeper and related equipment safely and in full compliance with all laws and contract regulations.
  • Follow all Job Options, Inc. safety policies and properly wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report equipment issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or Project Manager promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support contract requirements and operational needs.

Requirements
JOB CONTROLS: Receive general oral and written instructions and assignments from supervisors and/or project manager. Carry out assignments with independence. Work is reviewed regularly for satisfactory performance per contract requirements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education. Two (2) year of relative experience is required for non-disabled applicants. No prior experience or training is required for qualified individuals with disabilities. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English, and to follow basic written guidance related to cleaning tasks, safety procedures, and site requirements.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition and subtraction, as needed to complete routine janitorial tasks and follow written instructions.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
