Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
  • Strategically plan, manage and dispatch routes for both internal and external drivers
  • Oversee & Optimize all freight movements:
  • Inbound, outbound, and transfer
  • Utilize best mode strategies to meet Freight budget goals
  • Liaise and negotiate with freight carriers across all modes. Build strong rapport with carrier base to elicit win-win scenarios to increase capability and capacity.
  • Maintain carrier and driver service, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Partner with Inventory team to develop flight schedules for product transfers that maximize truck utilization and balance costs
  • Supervise and coach Logistics Coordinator
  • Develop and Track Transportation KPIs. Own carrier KPIs, develop strategies for service improvements and processes for non-performing carriers.
  • Analyze Transportation data to seek out continuous improvement activities in the network.

Requirements
Qualifications
What You'll Need:
  • B.S. in Supply Chain or Operations related degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5-7 years of relevant Transportation experience
  • Experience with Tanker, Truckload, LTL, Parcel shipping. Bulk rail shipping experience a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage others
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Microsoft Office skills a must.
  • Previous experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Mercury Gate experience a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) rules and regulations. Ability to work in time-sensitive environments
