Job description

This position supports the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation's (MCSI) community centered sustainability initiatives, including outreach, partnership development,communications, and program logistics. The role cultivates and sustains relationships with nonprofits, community-based organizations, government partners, and regional stakeholders to co-create impactful sustainability programs.
As the lead for MCSI's external engagement, this position coordinates initiatives that connect partners with sustainability-focused academic and research programs, student groups, and applied and service-learning opportunities. The role also collaborates with the University-wide Sustainability team and campus partners to expand Pitt undergraduate and graduate student participation in community-engaged sustainability efforts and increase access to experiential learning opportunities. This includes engaging K-12 students through outreach programs that build early awareness and interest in sustainability.
This position reports to the Co-Director of the Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation and works closely with MCSI faculty leadership. It partners with colleagues across the University including Sustainability, Global, Engagement and Community Affairs, Student Affairs, the Honors College, and others - to advance Center engagement and partnership goals.
