Primary Purpose of the Organization:
The primary purpose of Campus Enterprises is to provide and manage essential auxiliary and support services that enhance the university experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The department oversees a diverse portfolio of operational and revenue-generating services, including dining, bookstore operations, One Card services, mail and receiving services, event and facility support, ticketing, reservations, auditorium operations, passport services, and other business functions. Campus Enterprises is responsible for ensuring these services are delivered efficiently, financially responsibly, and in alignment with university policies, customer service standards, and institutional goals.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Lead Support Services Associate for Central Receiving is responsible for coordinating and performing the daily operations of the University's Central Receiving function, including receiving, warehousing, inventory control, delivery services, event support, surplus operations, and facilities-related projects. The position serves as the lead worker for support services staff, providing work direction, training, and operational oversight to ensure efficient, timely, and customer-focused service delivery. In addition, the position performs skilled carpentry and maintenance work to support campus facilities, furnishings, event infrastructure, and space utilization initiatives. The role contributes to the University's operational effectiveness by ensuring the safe receipt and distribution of materials, supporting campus events and facilities, and maintaining compliance with institutional policies and safety standards.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of receiving, warehousing, inventory control, logistics, and material handling operations.
  • Knowledge of carpentry methods, construction materials, maintenance practices, and the safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate the work of others, establish priorities, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, box trucks, and other equipment used in receiving and delivery operations.
  • Ability to interpret work orders, diagrams, and technical instructions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with university policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving, and transporting materials and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school and one year of experience in the receipt, storage, and issuance of a variety of materials, supplies, or equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in the operation of a Central Stores/Receiving Department and forklift operation certification.
