Job description

The General Manager (GM) at Surcheros Fresh Mex is responsible for driving the overall culture, community connections, and operations of their restaurant set forth by our Purpose Statement. GM will inspire, engage, motivate, and develop their team which will provide superior Guest and Team Member experience by living our FRESH values and ultimately be responsible for the success of the restaurant with financial performance.

The General Manage will coordinate and conduct the business functions of the entire restaurant business. This includes, but not limited to proper staffing, training, operational activities, community relationships, catering, and Guest and Team member experience on the entire restaurant. The GM is responsible for supporting Management and Hourly team members based on the FRESH values.

The General Manager must be well organized and have great communication and leadership skill. This person must be able to set the example of our FRESH values in everything they do.

Basic Tasks and Duties:

  • Be the role model of the FRESH Core Values, including all communication and social media.
  • Maintain positive and consistent communication with Assistant Managers, Team Leads, Team Members and above store leaders.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Extremely well organized and self-motivated
  • Assist with sourcing, hiring, and developing Managers and Team Members. Including ongoing training.
  • Responsible for all financial areas of the business. (Labor, Food Cost, Waste, Sales, etc) Must have a good understanding of how these areas of the business impact the financials of the business.
  • Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of Managers, Team Leads, and Team Members even in your absence.
  • Educate themselves, practice and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Be certified in all Team Member and Manager positions.
  • High ability to delegate responsibilities; validate completion.
  • Maintain operating standards, including safety and sanitation, ServSafe Certified is Required.
  • Provide fair and equal treatment of all Guests and Team Members including celebrations and progressive discipline.
  • Complete any and all tasks that has been issued by the upper Management that involves improving our productivity.
  • Report comments, issues, or any important information to the upper Management.
  • Supporting Area Managers, Management, and Team Leads in their adsence.

This does not exhaust all tasks required of the General Manager but merely the basics. There are numerous daily, weekly, and monthly duties that you will be required to carry out.
