Job description

Multnomah Athletic Club is more than Portland's most legendary hub of sports and socializing. It's like a small city unto itself. Where else can you find four restaurants, three pools, a climbing gym, state-of-the-art studios and fitness suite, a complex of racquet sport courts, massage offerings, a boutique, plus a grand ballroom and variety of events spaces all in one place? To say that every employee of MAC has room to move is an understatement almost as big as MAC's 600,000 square feet of recreational possibilities.

The Role
We are looking for a Service Support role for our Sports Pub at the Multnomah Athletic Club. This person will assist servers with ensuring proper service and member satisfaction in each of the four restaurants. There will be a strong emphasis on the running of food, clearing and resetting of tables.
What You'll Do
  • Setting up stations, stocking needed items, and folding napkins.
  • Demonstrates consistent and punctual attendance for daily shift meetings.
  • Correctly describes all menu items including at least three main ingredients for each item and the method of preparation.
  • Assists servers in clearing all unneeded glassware and dishes.
  • Ensures the service stations are clean, organized, and well stocked.
  • Maintains and correctly handles restaurant equipment and supplies so that unnecessary wear and tear, breakage, and waste does not occur.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions.
  • Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
  • Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring
  • Possession of a valid food handlers permit.
  • Familiarity with proper etiquette for removing dishes and utensils from tables.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer/guest service.
  • Ability to interact with members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to memorize menu items including the ability to describe at least three main ingredients and the method of preparation for each item.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions.
