Job description

Network Operations Manager - Capital City Bank - More than your bank, your banker.

Hours: Mon-Fri 40 hours

General Summary

The Network Operations Manager oversees the implementation and administration of the company’s network operations including servers, VMware, Citrix, network security, and day-to-day network operations. Ensures effective utilization of network management tools and applications to enhance system performance and limit downtime. Makes recommendations for purchases of hardware, software, servers, and wireless communications for current and future systems. Responsible for managing a team of network engineers, technicians and a Help Desk providing guidance and performance feedback. Operates the department within approved cost controls. This position has direct responsibility for employment decisions.

For key positions within Capital City Bank that manage, oversee, and mitigate risk, or have direct oversight of associates who perform these duties, training and/or certifications may be needed to ensure the Bank is adhering to the best and most current information security practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure, including servers, backup software, cloud services, maintenance renewal, routers, switches, load balancers, etc.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment to promote teamwork and professional growth.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and rectify outages and other performance related issues.
  • Ensure the organization’s overall security by working with the CTO to enforce best practices for firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, server, and network infrastructure hardening based on industry standards.
  • Monitor network traffic and usage patterns to forecast future network capacity needs.
  • Forecasting of budgetary requirements.
  • Monitoring and reporting security events to the appropriate parties.
  • Ensure the department follows documented policies and procedures.
  • Monitor unified communications performance and ensure technology is kept current.
  • Stay abreast of security concerns and vulnerabilities to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and information.
  • Continually investigates and implements ways to improve the effectiveness of network service capabilities.
  • Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to upper management.
  • Encourages team growth

All associates must understand and adhere to the non-negotiable Banker Standards and commit to practicing SGNNT (smile, greet, name, name, thank) at all times. Associates will consistently follow policies and procedures as established by Capital City Bank, with department managers setting the standard.

Associated Duties

Provides additional support to manager and department colleagues. Completes all assigned/required Bank training within established timelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Required

The following KSAs are usually acquired through college education with specialized emphasis in the technical sciences or management and six to eight years relevant experience or a combination of technical and management experience.

  1. Three to five years management experience in network architecture and operations.
  2. Technical certifications or equivalent are a plus.
  3. Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies.
  4. 5 -10 years’ experience in technical support role with progressive responsibility.


Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics required. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.

Working Conditions

  • Late or after-five hours sometimes required.
  • Occasional travel in and out of home area.
  • In the rare instance of a major or extensive natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic occurrence, or other disruption within our footprint, it may be necessary for associates to relocate or telecommute before, during or after, to ensure business continuity.
