Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the transformation of enterprise networking through automation, cloud, and infrastructure-as-code.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Network Engineering to lead and evolve the network engineering function supporting our data centers, cloud platforms, and geographically distributed locations.

This role leads a team of 7 engineers (including contractors) and is responsible for driving the strategy, modernization, and delivery of network infrastructure. You will play a key role in transforming networking into a scalable, automated, and software-driven platform, enabling the business to operate efficiently across a complex, distributed environment.

As a Senior Manager, you will operate as both a people leader and domain owner, influencing technical direction and strategy, guiding architectural decisions, and partnering across infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.

A critical focus of this role is to identify, reduce, and eliminate technology debt, modernizing legacy systems and establishing sustainable, automated networking practices.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

Support Distributed Business Operations at Scale

  • Ensure reliable connectivity(LAN & WAN)across large numbers of geographically distributed locations.
  • Design scalable solutions to support complex, multi-site environments.

Lead and Scale a High-Performing Engineering Team

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers.
  • Build a culture centered on automation, accountability, and engineering excellence.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and long-term capability development.
  • Coach engineers and emerging leaders within the team.

Own Network Strategy & Platform Evolution

  • Help define andlead theexecution ofthe network engineering strategy and roadmap.
  • Drive long-term improvements in scalability, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards and engineering best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce technical debt and operational complexity.

Drive Modern Infrastructure Practices

  • Champion treating infrastructure as software through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Lead adoption of Terraform and similar tools for network provisioning.
  • Integrate network infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Promote engineering practices such as version control, peer review, and automated validation.

Enable Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Networking

  • Oversee networking strategy andoptimizationacrossa multi-cloudenvironment(e.g.,AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)).
  • Ensure seamless connectivity between cloud platforms, data centers, and distributed locations.
  • Partner with cloud and platform teams to support scalable hybrid architectures.

Deliver Cross-Functional Initiatives

  • Lead delivery of network engineering projects and modernization efforts.
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Balance strategic improvements with operational excellence ("keep the lights on").
  • Ensure team is properly reporting time related toOpExandCapExand ensure timekeeping system is updated with reporting buckets.
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure proper technology, licensing,and support exists forteam relatedareas.
