Job description

Description of Duties
SUNY Canton invites applications for the part-time position of Athletic Communications Assistant (ACA). The ACA will assist in the overall coverage of SUNY Canton's 15 NCAA Division III sports as well as esports and cheerleading. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary contact for multiple sports and attend all home games for the select sports serving as a statistician. The ACA will also write stories/press releases for their primary sports for both home and away games.
Responsibilities
In addition, the ACA will assist with social media coverage for their sports ranging from gameday and postgame graphics to photography (taking photos and editing) and video editing and cutting of highlights. The ACA will assist in taking photos at different sports scheduled "media days" and assist with keeping student-athlete bios and other data on the website updated. The ACA will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications & Marketing with other projects as needed and will serve as the lead contact in the absence of the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications & Marketing.
Qualifications
Experience in athletic communications and with NCAA Live Stats and Statcrew software is preferred but can also be taught. Experience writing game recaps/press releases and with photography and social media is a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate good communication skills and ability to balance a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
