Job description

About Sunlight Cares: We're a home care agency that takes seriously the idea that people deserve to age with dignity, laughter, and someone who genuinely gives a damn. We're not a faceless staffing warehouse. We're a team that knows our clients by name, knows their stories, and shows up โ€” literally โ€” when it matters most.

What You'll Do: Help real humans with real lives. That means assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), preparing meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and โ€” maybe most importantly โ€” being someone worth talking to. Sometimes the best thing you'll do all day is sit with someone and actually listen.

We Need Someone Who:

  • Shows up. On time. Every time. (We know life happens โ€” but chronically "forgetting" shifts is a hard no.)
  • Has a warm heart and steady hands
  • Available Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM
  • Treats every client like they're your favorite grandparent โ€” because to someone, they are
  • Can handle the unexpected without melting down
  • Is professional enough to represent Sunlight but real enough to laugh at a bad joke

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay
  • Location: Perry, Iowa
  • Flexible scheduling (full-time and part-time available)
  • A team that actually has your back
  • The kind of work that matters at the end of the day

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to get it)
  • A genuine desire to help people โ€” not just a box to check on an application

Honest Warning: This job is not glamorous. It is, however, meaningful in ways most jobs will never be. If that speaks to you, we want to hear from you.
