Job description

Summit Staffing is seeking detail-oriented and dependable Inventory Control & Quality Associates (ICQA) to support warehouse operations in a food distribution environment. In this role, you will perform inventory audits, cycle counts, quality inspections, and inventory control functions while ensuring product accuracy and quality standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies using warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Conduct quality inspections of products and identify damaged, short-dated, or expired items
  • Assist with product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures
  • Scan and verify inventory using RF scanners and handheld devices
  • Review inventory reports and communicate inventory concerns as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow GMPs, food safety standards, and company policies
  • Support additional warehouse and inventory-related duties as assigned

Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous inventory control, warehouse, receiving, or quality assurance experience preferred
  • Experience using RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to identify and resolve inventory and quality issues
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, and manual dexterity throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments ranging from 34°F–38°F
  • Ability to work in freezer environments as needed (protective equipment provided)
