Job description

Job Title: EDM Operator – 3rd Shift
Overview Summary
Seeking an EDM Operator to support precision manufacturing operations by running wire and/or sinker EDM machines. In this role, you will produce high-accuracy metal components, monitor machining processes, and ensure parts meet strict quality and tolerance standards in a production environment.
Job Details
Location: Ossian, Indiana
Type: Full-Time/ Direct hire
Shift: 3rd Shift (Monday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities
Operate wire and/or sinker EDM machines according to programmed specifications and setup instructions
Load, position, and secure parts using appropriate fixtures and workholding methods
Monitor machine performance, cutting conditions, and burn stability throughout production
Perform basic machine adjustments to maintain required tolerances and surface finishes
Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to ensure product compliance
Maintain dielectric fluid levels and support machine filtration system upkeep
Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or nonconforming parts to leadership
Complete production logs and inspection documentation accurately and on time
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Skills & Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
Basic understanding of EDM machining or manufacturing processes
Mechanical aptitude with interest in precision machining
Ability to read and use precision measuring tools accurately
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Basic computer skills for machine operation and documentation
Ability to troubleshoot minor machine or production issues
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in EDM operation or CNC machining environment
Familiarity with manufacturing inspection processes and quality control standards
Experience working in fast-paced production settings
