Job description

Position Overview
Ensure guests receive high quality healthcare while staying at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with care for sick or injured campers and staff daily
  • Respond to and/or assist with emergencies as they occur
  • Assist with mental health first aid when necessary
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures in the Summit Health Lodge
  • On-call rotation
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions while maintaining
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Required: Emergency Medical Technician Certification and valid NREMT Certification
  • Required: Able to obtain WV State EMT Certification (Provided)
  • Required training: HazMat, Bloodborne Pathogens, Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)
  • Preferred: Mental Health First Aid Certification
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Summit UTV and vehicle permit and
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)

Physical & Practical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds
  • Stamina to repeatedly lift, bend, and kneel
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
  • Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
