Job description

Marufuku Ramen is coming to Downtown Summerlin! We're excited to announce the opening of our brand-new location, bringing our signature Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, handcrafted broths, and authentic Japanese flavors to the heart of Summerlin. Our grand opening is set for February 4, and we'll begin team training on January 21 as we prepare to deliver the exceptional food and hospitality Marufuku Ramen is known for. Join us as we open our doors and welcome the community to our newest location.
We are looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals according to menu. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery. Ramen preparation and Japanese restaurant experience is a plus.
An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
Responsibilities:
  • Cooks perform various food preparation and cooking, performing cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen remains efficient in creating and delivering dishes for customers.
  • Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves.
  • Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Cooking food in various utensils or grillers
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Check food while cooking to stir or turn.
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Check the quality of ingredients.
  • Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages.
  • Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats
  • Peeling eggs - marinating eggs
  • Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
  • Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen
  • Adhering to all relevant nutrition and health department regulations and standards
  • Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply

Requirements
  • Proven experience as cook
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Exceptionally effective communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.
  • Current food handler's card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law.
  • Ramen preparation and Japanese restaurant experience are a plus.

  • Restaurant Experience: 2 years (Required)
