Job description

Summary
Plans and implements a Credit Recovery Academy summer program associated with VDOE assessments for verified credits; works in a collaborative team setting to individualize instruction for a variety of learners, including support for Multilingual Learners (ML) and students who receive special education support and services; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; manages student behavior; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; collaborates with other summer program teachers to plan and facilitate Project-based Learning; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy.
Qualifications
Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education and an endorsement in the assigned discipline, with experience in the modification of curriculum and the integration of technology to facilitate learning. Experience providing differentiated and individualized student support, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
