Job description

Description
Established in 2005, the LGBTQ studies program offers students the opportunity to complete a minor in the interdisciplinary field of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Studies. The LGTBQ Studies Program, within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at DePaul University, invites expressions of interest for adjunct faculty teaching opportunities.These part-time teaching opportunities may be available throughout the academic year.
Please note: in 2025-2026 we will continue to have particular interest in applicants with expertise in Transgender Studies and in Introduction to LGBTQ Studies.
Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview. Academic course needs fluctuate from quarter to quarter, appointments are made on a course-by-course basis, and subsequent appointments are not guaranteed; however, the Program does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations.
Qualifications
Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.A. in related fields and teaching experience, at the collegiate level, in any disciplinary area of LGBTQ Studies.

This posting applies to the following fields of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer studies. Teachers should be prepared to teach from an inter-disciplinary perspective and be familiar with online teaching modalities.

Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).
