ACS SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Position Summary
The ACS Summer Internship Program is a six-week experiential learning opportunity designed to introduce high school students to the professional business environment. Interns receive coaching, mentorship, and hands-on exposure to how organizations operate while contributing to ACS's mission of expanding and evolving apprenticeship opportunities across the United States.
Program Objectives
  • Develop workplace professionalism, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Learn how business departments work together to achieve organizational goals.
  • Gain exposure to workforce development, apprenticeship programs, and business strategy.
  • Build confidence through meaningful projects, coaching, and mentorship.

Internship Experience: Essential Job Functions
  • Rotate through multiple ACS departments and business functions.
  • Observe and participate in project management, payroll support, compliance verification, operations, workforce development, and administrative functions.
  • Complete projects and assignments that support ACS initiatives and business priorities.
  • Learn how ACS increases participation in registered apprenticeship programs nationwide.
  • Attend professional development and career-readiness coaching sessions.
  • Collaborate with ACS team members while gaining practical workplace experience.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Familiarity with office software applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent
  • May require excellent technical knowledge of network, PC Hardware, and software
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in performing tasks
  • Ability to work well within a diverse population as well as autonomously
  • Ability to contribute positively to team dynamics and outcomes
  • Ability to handle sensitive information
  • Ability to exhibit professionalism in conduct, integrity, punctuality, and adherence to workplace expectations and policies

Duration: 6 Weeks (Paid Internship, salary range: $15-20/hour)
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours), Flexible based on program needs and student availability
Location: ACS Office and/or approved worksite locations
