Job Type: Paid Summer Internship


Sherpa 6 is seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about software development and wants to contribute on a full stack development effort. The software engineer intern will be responsible for researching and documenting architecture, developing code and submitting pull requests, and testing and validating the solution. The software engineer intern will attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews where they will get the opportunity to demonstrate to leadership what they have built.

While this position is just for the summer, interns who demonstrate they are a good fit for the Sherpa 6 culture will be invited to stay on the project in a part time capacity while they continue their studies. Any intern that receives this invite will not be required to interview for a full time position, and is eligible to receive a job offer upon graduation.


The Software Engineer Intern will work on a scrum team of peers and be led by technical leads at Sherpa 6. Day to day activities will involve attending daily stand-ups, writing code, creating pull requests, testing, reviewing UX/UI designs, participating in architecture discussions, and most importantly - having a willingness to learn!

Requirements

  • Starting Junior or Senior year of college after summer break
  • Enrolled in a 4 year Computer Science program or equivalent
  • Familiar with REST API design / development in any programming language
  • Familiar with front-end SPA web development in any framework
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Principles
  • Experience with Git
  • Strong attention to detail

Exceptional Candidates Will Have:

  • Experience in Angular
  • Experience in Golang
  • Experience using Docker containers
  • Experience using Jira and BitBucket
