Summary of Job
Summer Seasonal:
  • May through August (variable hours; approximately 30-40 hours/week)
  • April through October (variable hours; approximately 30-40 hours/week)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist regular full-time City employees with grounds maintenance work which includes mowing of City property, weeding, line trimming, planting flowers, litter/debris pick-up, painting, event set-up/take-down, tree/bush trimming, cleaning bathrooms, watering plants/trees, cemetery care, along with the operation of applicable equipment including hand tools, chippers, tractors, bark blower, auger, rotary tiller, sod cutter, and hedge trimmer. Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years of age upon employment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Experience in grounds and landscape maintenance and equipment care preferred.
  • Must obtain ATV/UTV License within one month of hire.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Must be creative, enthusiastic, highly organized, motivated, dependable, patient and able to maintain discipline. Must be capable of following directions and have an ability to learn new skills. Possess good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete daily paperwork and work well with others from different cultures and backgrounds.

Grounds Maintenance II
Wages: $18.00/hour
Works Thursday - Monday
Work Sites: All City Parks, Krueger Golf Course, Eastlawn Cemetery, City Parcels and Public Right-of-Ways
