Event Staff - Banquet Set Up Staff
Starting April 5 and for the spring/summer season
All Shifts Available - Days, Nights Weekends
Part-Time On Site At Local Venues Across Atlanta Metro
 

SGA Lists is seeking reliable, physically capable Event Staff - Banquet Set Up Staff to prepare and maintain banquet spaces for events. This role involves arranging furniture and equipment, setting up stations, ensuring bar readiness, and performing post-event breakdown and cleaning. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work efficiently under pressure, and comfortable with manual lifting and long periods of standing.
Responsibilities:
  • Room Setup: Arrange tables, chairs, buffet stations, service stations, and decor according to event blueprints or Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Floor Plans & Spacing: Ensure correct placement, alignment, and spacing of furniture and equipment to meet safety and aesthetic standards.
  • Bar Preparation: Stock and organize bars; set up ice bins, glassware, garnishes, and supplies; assist with beverage stations as needed.
  • Equipment Handling: Load-in/load-out and transport heavy equipment and supplies; operate basic equipment safely and in accordance with guidelines.
  • Service Readiness: Ensure all service areas (food prep, pastry, beverage) are organized and accessible to staff during events.
  • Guest Experience Support: Respond to event needs, troubleshoot minor setup issues, and assist with guest flow as directed by supervisors.
  • Breakdown & Cleaning: Tear down the room after events, remove/repack equipment, and clean the venue to standard; restore space to original condition.
  • Inventory & Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels for utensils, glassware, linens, and bar supplies; report shortages and coordinate restocking.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, wear required PPE, and report hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Communication: Coordinate with event managers, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth operation and timely execution.
Qualifications:
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy loads (e.g., equipment, tables, crates) and stand for extended periods.
  • Experience: Prior experience in banquet setup, hotel/venue events, catering, or related hospitality roles preferred.
  • Mobility: Comfortable working in a standing/walking role for long hours and navigating event spaces.
  • Teamwork: Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to take direction and work as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to adapt to last-minute changes or space constraints with a positive attitude.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as events require.
