Job description

Job DescriptionJob Summary

Blow Mold Operator coworkers efficiently, effectively and safely operate the blow mold machines and other support equipment. Operators ensure high quality finished products are being produced and meeting production volumes for our customers, while working in a fast-paced and quick changing environment.

Specific Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Ensures all machines are kept running and producing quality bottles while ensuring the least amount of down-time possible. Follows production schedules and communicates any changes to team members when necessary. Start-up and shut down of blow mold machine and supporting equipment. Organization ability to complete daily cleaning and adequately maintains good housekeeping throughout the area. Checks and monitors quality on all assigned machines by understanding and recognizing all visual quality defects and how to make appropriate adjustments to correct quality defects. Maintains all required documentation for quality checks and testing, process checks, downtime, housekeeping and data entry. Operates forklift safely and efficiently. Displays a full understanding and working knowledge of all related software and other equipment required for efficient production of quality product. Follows all established safety rules and guidelines. Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and Supervisors. Properly uses all required personal protective equipment. Performs other related duties as directed by the Production Supervisor. Product Safety regarding cleanliness and notification of any observations that may create a product safety concern.

11. Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents in their departments.

12. Take reasonable care for self and others to prevent injury.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to start up and shut down all Injection machinery and supporting equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree; or at least one year manufacturing related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.

Language Skills

Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While the employee is performing the duties of this position that employee must be able to manipulate product with both hands, both above and below shoulder height. The employee must be able to stand on a solid surface for a minimum of twelve (12) hours. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders. The employee must be able to frequently lift and /or move up to fifty (50) pounds. The employee must be able to demonstrate repetitive motion with a pallet jack and push/pull up to seven hundred (700) pounds throughout the day (12 hour shift). Specific vision abilities required by this position include close visual inspection of product. The employee must be to perform job functions in temperatures of one hundred plus degrees during summer season and fifty degrees during winter season.
