Job description

A private family in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is seeking an experienced, warm, and professional Full-Time Companion Caregiver to support an elderly husband and wife, ages 90 and 88.
The couple is largely self-sufficient but requires assistance with daily activities, personal routines, meal preparation, transportation, and companionship. The husband has early-stage dementia, so the ideal candidate must have previous experience supporting seniors with dementia or other memory-related conditions.
This is a long-term opportunity with a high-net-worth family that values professionalism, discretion, patience, and privacy.
Schedule and Living Arrangement
The family is open to either of the following arrangements:
  • A live-in candidate who can work 5 to 6 six days per week
  • A live-out candidate who lives near Palm Beach Gardens and has the flexibility to stay overnight when needed

The couple spends approximately May through October in Michigan and October through April in Florida. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to travel with them to Michigan during the summer months.
Responsibilities
  • Provide companionship and daily support to both seniors
  • Assist with daily activities and ensure their routines are followed
  • Provide some assistance with dressing and personal care
  • Prepare meals and assist with kitchen cleanup
  • Care for and organize the couple's personal wardrobes
  • Accompany them to doctors' appointments and other engagements
  • Drive the couple to appointments, errands, and grocery shopping
  • Assist with grocery shopping and other household errands
  • Provide support and supervision for the husband due to early-stage dementia
  • Monitor changes in routine, behavior, or general well-being
  • Travel with the couple between Florida and Michigan
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the family's privacy
  • Perform additional companion-care duties as needed

Requirements
  • Previous professional companion or caregiver experience
  • Experience working with elderly individuals
  • Experience supporting individuals with dementia or memory-related conditions
  • Caregiver-related training/certifications (CNA, HHA, CPR/First Aid, or similar) preferred
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
  • Comfortable driving seniors to appointments and errands
  • Willing and able to travel to Michigan for several months each year
