Job description

Job Posting The City of Lake Elmo is seeking a Community Development Intern. This individual should be service oriented, organized, and dependable to fill a temporary summer/fall position. You will learn about and assist with the community development activities that may include community engagement and analysis, research, city code and land use research, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

The primary research project for this role will be to explore use cases of AI in local city government that may support efficiency. The role will provide a student with valuable exposure to a variety of projects in the public sector. Applicants may be enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergrad or master's program in public administration, public policy, urban studies, economic development, urban planning, land use planning or a related field; must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoints; and planning, policy, and/or coursework or experience is helpful.
