Job description

The Nantucket Yacht Club is a 110 year old private club located on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. It is a seasonal (summer) resort island located 30 miles off the southern coast of Cape Cod. The Club staffs around 25 servers each year. Team members learn to plan, set up, execute, manage, and work daily Clubhouse operations. The position is hands-on and staff will have the opportunity to learn skills in fine dining, wine service, custom cocktails, special events, casual and quick service, POS systems, and basic bartending. Commitment to the entire season (without vacations/other obligations) is required. The ability to work through Labor Day (09/07/26) is required of most positions.

Work Hours/Conditions: A standard work week is 40 hours but will likely be more during peak times. As a seasonal employer, overtime is exempt and is paid out at the same hourly rate. Vacation time is not available during the season. The Club expects ataff to be on time and in uniform for all shifts. Most of the uniform is provided. The Club has a no cell phone policy during work hours. Schedule is provided weekly.

Meals: 21 meals are provided per week (breakfast, lunch and dinner daily)

Housing: Dormitory-style housing on Nantucket Yacht Club campus. Dorm living includes 2-3 people per room with shared bathrooms. Room and board is provided for a fee of $40 per week and is deducted automatically from pay. The Club provides sheets, towel, washcloth, blanket, and pillow at no cost. Laundry is available on premises. No guests are allowed in the club housing. Drugs are prohibited on all NYC properties. There is no kitchen access in the building.

Gratuity: Gratuity is only paid during private events, such as weddings.
Bonus: The Club provides an end-of-season bonus, provided terms of contract are fulfilled.

Transportation: Travel to the island is via ferry (from Cape Cod) or via airplane. Cars are not recommended. The Club does not offer parking and on street parking is not an option due to the Town of Nantucket’s residential parking permit regulations. The cost of bringing a vehicle to Nantucket is very expensive. The Club does have an area to park bicycles and most areas of interest are a short ride away.  There is a public transit system that provides access to the whole island and seasonal passes are available for purchase. The Club is located in the core of the downtown area and there are beaches within walking distance.

Specifications: Full time staff needed from May 26 - October 12th.
