What You'll Do

Daily Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead structured games, themed activities, outdoor play, and enrichment projects
  • Help implement weekly camp themes and engaging group challenges
  • Supervise children during transitions, meals, outings, and quite periods
  • Maintain strong safety practices and accountability standards
  • Model positive social interaction and respectful communication
  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and maintaining organized spaces
  • Communicate professionally with parents during drop-off and pickup
  • Maintain compliance with New Mexico childcare licensing and safety standards
  • Support life-skills-based activities (teamwork, responsibility, leadership)

Additional Responsibilities (As Needed):

  • Drive center vans for field trips (non-CDL)
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED; degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Experience working with children (camp, after-school, childcare, church, coaching, etc.)
  • Ability to lead groups confidently and maintain safety standards
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced classroom environment
  • Valid driver's license (for driving roles)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass all state-required background checks

Preferred:

  • Previous summer camp leadership experience
  • Experience leading older elementary or pre-teen groups
  • Interest in education, youth development, recreation, or leadership
