Begin Your Financial Services Journey with Our Summer Teller Program!


Ready to develop new skills, gain meaningful work experience, and play an important role in serving your community this summer? Join us as a Summer Teller, a key contributor to our branch team. In this role, you’ll deliver warm, personalized service, accurately process everyday banking transactions, and help connect customers with products and services that support their financial goals.


This is a float position, giving you the opportunity to work across multiple branches within our footprint. It’s a great fit for individuals who enjoy variety in their work, learning new things, and engaging with different teams and customers.


The program begins in June and runs for up to 12 weeks, with potential opportunities to continue beyond the summer or transition into a full‑time role. If you’re enthusiastic, service‑minded, and interested in building a strong foundation for a career in banking, this is a fantastic opportunity to start your journey.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to retail branch staff within the assigned footprint.
  • Greet customers and prospective customers in a warm, professional manner that reflects our established service standards.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by processing financial transactions accurately and professionally.
  • Maintain responsibility for a cash drawer and follow established balancing procedures.
  • Assist with daily branch operations, including processing night deposits, handling ATM deposits, and supporting vault, ATM, cash recycler, cash advance machine, and other operational needs.
  • Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure adherence to security, audit, and compliance procedures.
  • Follow all established bank policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and complete assigned compliance training.
  • Build knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Introduce customers to alternative banking channels such as ATMs/ITMs and digital banking tools.
  • Identify customer needs and refer them to the appropriate team member or business partner.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.


Job Related Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior Experience: 6+ months of customer service experience


Competencies:

  • Ability to make personal connections, engage customers, and maintain professionalism.
  • Ability to utilize multiple systems and applications accurately and simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, retail banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, fraud‑prevention tools, processes, and techniques.
