Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for a highly capableSubrogation Specialistto join our teamand work from our Chicago office. Alternatively, this position can be filled in our Albany, Los Angeles, Omaha or Richmond offices. We work together in the office five days a week in order to strengthen our culture, build team connections, and drive profitability.The position reports to the SVP, Specialty Claims located in San Antonio and is focused on adjudicating subrogation of auto and workers' compensation claims using specialized knowledge to evaluate liability in order to pursue, negotiate and resolve subrogation claims.

This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Working under technical direction and within significant limits and authority, adjudicate subrogation auto and workers' compensation claims of higher technical complexity, with a direct impact on departmental results.
  • Negotiating settlements.
  • Managing subrogation claims in litigation.
  • Resolving issues that are generalized and typically not complex but require understanding of a broader set of issues.
  • Reporting to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments.
  • Acting as a resource for claims adjusters by answering questions regarding subrogation matters.
  • Managing diary timely and complete tasks to ensure that cases move to the best financial outcome and timely resolution.
  • Identifying, assigning, and coordinating the assignment and coordination of legal and expert resources to assist in case resolution.
  • Preparing reports for file documentation.
  • Applying creative solutions which result in the best financial outcome.
  • Having an appreciation and passion for strong claim management.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Must have good business acumen (i.e.understand how an insurance company works and makes money, including how this role impacts both Argo Group and our customers' ability to be profitable).
  • A practical knowledge of adjudicating subrogation claims, as well as an exceptional customer service focus typically achieved through:
    • A minimum of two years of adjudicating auto or workers' compensation claims.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required. Four additional years of related claims experience beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Must work independently anddemonstratethe ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Excellent evaluation and analytical skillsrequired.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize workload while handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate the financial value of your work at multiple responsibility levels inside our clients' business which may include CEO.
  • Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will becommensuratewith candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

  • Richmond Pay Range: $78,250 - $92,250
  • Albany & Chicago Pay Range:$86,000 - $101,500
  • Los Angeles Pay Range: $94,000 - $110,500
