Job description

Job Overview

The Senior Supply Chain Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for the entire supply chain function, developing and implementing supply chain strategies to optimize processes, manage supplier relationships, and ensure alignment with the company’s long‑term vision and objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of supply chain strategies that align with the company’s vision and objectives.
  • Continuously improve supply chain processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support program goals.
  • Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Drive strategic engagement with key suppliers and subcontractors, building and maintaining relationships to ensure reliable, cost‑effective, and compliant material flow that supports programmatic and technical requirements.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of subcontractor Statements of Work (SSOWs), requirement packages, and milestone payment plans, ensuring clarity, regulatory compliance (including FAR/DFARS) and alignment with program objectives and schedules.
  • Lead, participate in, and represent the company at programmatic and technical meetings with subcontractors and suppliers, including program reviews, status updates, and the negotiation of program‑driven changes.
  • Serve as Subcontract Program Manager for large or complex subcontracts as needed, managing the full subcontract lifecycle from proposal input through execution, milestone achievement, and closeout, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance objectives are met.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions, proactively identifying potential risks within the supply chain—including with subcontractors and procured parts—and presenting mitigation plans to senior leadership and customers.
  • Coordinate cross‑functionally with procurement, subcontract management, engineering, program management, and leadership to maintain schedule integrity, resolve technical and schedule issues, and optimize supplier and subcontractor performance.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to drive supply chain visibility and achievement of goals.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of capital, contract equipment, and facility budgets to support business needs.
  • Lead the exploration and implementation of advanced technologies and innovative solutions to drive supply chain excellence.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 11+ years of experience in operations or a related area; relevant experience can substitute for education as specified.
  • Extensive experience in subcontract management, including Statement of Work development, supplier negotiations, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.
  • In‑depth working knowledge of commodity, category, and sourcing management.
  • Background in manufacturing timelines and requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand technical requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, cost, and schedule analysis skills.
  • Highly proficient with developing and presenting business‑case materials to all levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulatory requirements, including FAR and DFARS.
  • Extensive Supply Chain Management skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM or CPIM.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing large‑scale supply chain operations.
  • Experience working in Supply Chain supporting government contracts.
  • Experience with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) / Source‑to‑Pay (S2P) systems.
Security Clearance Requirements

The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required; non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
