Job description

SUMMARY

The IT Manager Workforce & Operational Systems is responsible for leading a team of IT Developers, Analysts & Vendor partners for ensuring the effective delivery, support, and evolution of technology solutions that enable key business units including but not limited to Human Resources, Legal and Enterprise Learning Management. 

This role is responsible for managing and executing both operational support and project initiatives across a portfolio of SaaS platforms and internally developed applications. The position also manages relationships with external vendors and SaaS providers engaged across various business application initiatives and projects.

This role requires a balance of business relationship management, technical acumen, delivery leadership, and people management to ensure that application platforms are reliable, scalable, secure, and continuously delivering measurable business value.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functional Strategy & Roadmap
    Partner with HR, Legal and Learning Management leadership & IT Management teams to develop and evolve Subaru's Applications strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and industry best practices. Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology enablement and system optimization across SaaS and internally developed solutions. 
  • End-to-End Program & Project Delivery
    Oversee the design, configuration, integration, enhancement, and ongoing support of business application platforms including SaaS products and internally developed systems. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Manage application lifecycle activities including upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and operational support. 
  • Team Leadership & Development
    Lead, coach, and mentor a team of IT professionals responsible for application delivery and support. Foster an inclusive and collaborative culture, develop team capabilities, and ensure effective execution of both operational and project initiatives. Establish clear priorities, encourage professional development, and promote continuous improvement across the team. 
  • Business Partnership
    Serve as a trusted advisor to the business partners ensuring technology solutions effectively support evolving business needs and deliver measurable outcomes. Collaborate with business leaders to develop complex ideas and solutions and make recommendations for projects that support Subaru's corporate goals. Develop and implement recommendations for the senior management team to increase operational effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Project & Portfolio Management
    Manage the portfolio of business application initiatives including enhancements, integrations, and new platform implementations. Oversee project prioritization, Capacity  planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and reporting. Ensure timely delivery of business initiatives within scope and budget while maintaining operational stability of existing systems. Support budgeting and planning for future projects and technology investments.
  • Vendor & Partner Management
    Manage relationships with SaaS providers, technology vendors, and implementation partners to ensure service quality, contract compliance, and maximum value from vendor engagements. Oversee vendor performance and ensure alignment with Subaru's IT standards and delivery expectations.
  • Governance & Compliance
    Ensure business applications comply with data protection, privacy regulations, cybersecurity standards, and internal Subaru IT policies. Support governance processes including change management, access controls, and audit readiness. Maintain compliance with JSOX and internal audit requirements where applicable.

REQUIRED SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated success leading technical and functional teams supporting enterprise business applications.

  • Required: Strong understanding of enterprise application ecosystems including SaaS platforms and internally developed solutions supporting business functions.

  • Required: Demonstrated technical expertise with prior hands-on development experience in one or more programming languages, frameworks, or enterprise platforms.

  • Required: Experience supporting and implementing technology solutions within corporate functions such as Human Resources, Legal & Enterprise Learning Management.

  • Preferred: Experience working with HRIS (eg. Oracle HCM, WorkDay, Dayforce), Learning Management Systems (eg: Latitude), Document management platforms, Communication platforms, or related enterprise SaaS solutions.

  • Preferred: Experience managing integrations between SaaS applications and enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, or integration platforms.

  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage delivery from concept to adoption.

  • Excellent leadership skills, including coaching, delegation, and team development.

  • Evidence of proven leadership within a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.

  • Strong vendor management and contract oversight experience.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across business and IT functions.

  • Project management skills, including budget oversight, planning, forecasting, and execution.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: BA/ BS, 8-10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3-5 years of IT Management with direct reports.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Office Location: Camden, NJ apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly)

  • Hybrid Role: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days) [Wednesdays & Fridays]

COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $125,800 - $135,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Additionally, this role is bonus-eligible, with a target bonus percentage that provides an opportunity to earn even more based on your performance. (Internal Job Grade: M1)
