About PFCTrials

Patients First Clinical Trials (PFCTrials) is a community-focused, patient-centric research site connecting diverse patient populations with innovative clinical trials. Our mission is to advance patient care through high-quality, ethical research while fostering strong relationships with local healthcare providers and the community.

Position Summary

PFCTrials is seeking an experienced Sub-Investigator (MD, DO, or NP) with strong clinical and patient care experience to provide medical oversight, support patient care, ensure protocol adherence, and collaborate with the study team. This role is ideal for clinicians who want to participate in research while maintaining direct patient care involvement.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Oversight

  • Assist the Principal Investigator in protocol implementation and study oversight.
  • Conduct study-related procedures such as patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams (as within scope of practice), medical rating scales and adverse event evaluation.
  • Ensure participant safety, monitor protocol adherence, and make medically appropriate decisions.

Patient Care & Engagement

  • Build rapport with participants and provide guidance throughout the study.
  • Obtain informed consent and clearly explain study procedures.
  • Implement strategies to maximize participant retention and adherence.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all study activities comply with GCP, FDA, and IRB requirements.
  • Review source documents and eCRFs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Principal Investigator, Research Coordinator, and study staff.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance on clinical aspects of trials.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and CROs as needed.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license eligible to serve as Sub-Investigator.
  • Minimum 3+ years of clinical/patient care experience in fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Prior Sub-Investigator or research experience.
  • Familiarity with EDC/CTMS and clinical trial documentation.
  • Commitment to community engagement and diverse patient recruitment.
  • Mentoring or supervisory experience.
