POSITION SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: STUDY HALL SUPERVISOR
CLASSIFIED POSITION
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL
QUALIFICIATIONS: ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE OR 60 HOURS CERTFIED COLLEGE CREDIT; 21 YEARS OF AGE;
CAPABLE OF SUPERVISING LARGE GROUPS OF STUDENTS; CAPABLE OF MAINTAINING ORDERLY
RECORDS OF STUDENT ATTENDANCE; WILLING TO ASSISST STUDENTS WITH ACADEMIC NEEDS; MUST POSSESS BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Principal and Associate Principal to promote the following:
1. Supervise students in a structured environment appropriate for students
to do class work.
2. Promote student discipline, student attendance and appropriate student interaction as described in the student discipline handbook.
3. Maintain appropriate records of attendance and report any incidents of misbehavior in a written referral.
4. Converse with students on appropriate classroom and school behavior in accordance with district policy.
5. Be willing to assist students academically. Administer and oversee the completion of student assignments.
6. Maintain consistent communication with all staff to assist in orderly attendance taking procedures.
7. Work closely with administration on continuing to develop more effective ways to facilitate lunch detentions and in-school suspension program.
8. Supervise the study hall area whenever students are scheduled in the area. Always be present for the entire time students are using the study hall area.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal/director designee.
Individual performance will be evaluated annually.
