About the Employer
The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county's 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.
Job Summary
The purpose of the Teacher, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, is to improve students' success in academics by addressing the unique needs of a Deaf or Hard of Hearing student by providing services in areas such as self-advocacy, auditory skills, pragmatic language social skills, equipment monitoring and listening tests to assist the student in having access to the district approved curriculum. Documenting teaching and student progress/activities, and outcomes; addressing students' individual needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Credential Copy (Education Specialist Instruction Credential or equivalent, with an authorization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.)
  • Letter of Introduction (Letter must be specific to the position for which you are applying.)
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two (2) Letters of Recommendation are required and must be signed by the author. The signature block must include the author's name and title/relationship to the applicant. Letters must be dated within the last 2 years prior to the position closing date. Letters without author's signature, name and title/relationship to the applicant and letters without a date or dated more than 2 years prior to the position closing date will not be accepted. One letter from a supervisor is preferred.)
