Job description

DEPARTMENT: Student Leadership & Involvement

SUPERVISED BY: Assistant Director of Student Leadership & Involvement

FLSA STATUS:  Non-exempt hourly

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

The Graduate Assistant for Campus Recreation in the Office of Student Leadership & Involvement to assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive student involvement program designed to enhance the overall learning experience for students by enhancing co-curricular activities. This Graduate Assistant should gain experience in advising, programming, campus recreation, club sports, and fitness programs. The position includes a scholarship, in accordance with graduate school tuition, and payment, in accordance with hours worked.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Coordinate student entrepreneurship development in collaboration with the School of Business & Technology, meeting individually with student entrepreneurs for development, support, and programming efforts. 
  • Provide oversight for the Griffin Intramurals campus recreation program, with a special focus on program growth and development to meet the recreation and fitness needs of Seton Hill students. 
  • Lead and actively participate in recruiting, training, and supervising undergraduate and graduate student employees for Griffin Intramurals. 
  • Serve as staff support for Club Sports, assisting with development, reserving campus facilities, purchasing, risk management, and competitive scheduling. 
  • Assist with the coordination of several major campus events including the Involvement Fair, Homecoming & Family Weekend and other campus-wide programming efforts. 
  • Other duties as assigned, including supporting other Student Leadership & Involvement and Student Affairs programming. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree and acceptance into one of Seton Hill University's eligible MBA/Education graduate program
  •  Knowledge of campus recreation, event planning, or program management preferred 
  •  Conduct themselves as professional staff members while in the office which includes dress, behavior, and attitude 
  •  Flexibility of work environment and schedule, including nights and weekends 
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal and organizational skills 
  •  Integrity, flexibility, positivity, adaptability, strong work ethic
