POSITION OVERVIEW The Middle School Coordinator for Student Life is responsible for designing, coordinating, and overseeing student life programming for grades 6-8 that supports students' social, emotional, and spiritual development. Working collaboratively with Division Deans and reporting to the 6-8 Rabbi, this role strengthens middle school community, student leadership, and Jewish life through developmentally appropriate, mission-aligned experiences. The coordinator manages programming from vision and planning through implementation and reflection, ensuring a cohesive and supportive student experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, coordinate, and implement grade-level and division-wide student life programming for students in grades 6-8.
  • Collaborate closely with Division Deans to support student culture, community norms, and division-wide initiatives.
  • Report to and partner with the 6-8 Rabbi to integrate Jewish values, learning, and rituals into student life programming.
  • Plan and oversee middle school assemblies, celebrations, and commemorations connected to the Jewish calendar and school life.
  • Plan and support learning activities surrounding Jewish holidays that are developmentally appropriate, experiential, and aligned with middle school curricular and student life goals.
  • Support and advise middle school student leadership structures, including student council and related committees.
  • Help design and facilitate leadership development experiences appropriate to middle school students.
  • Collaborate with faculty advisors to align advisory programming and student life initiatives.
  • Support grade-level retreats and Shabbatonim in partnership with the 6-8 Rabbi and division leadership.
  • Assist with calendar planning, logistics, and supervision for student life events and programs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with faculty, students, and families regarding student life programming and expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when supporting students and managing sensitive situations.
  • Serve on relevant middle school and school-wide committees as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced study in education, Jewish education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students in schools, camps, or youth programming settings.
  • Strong understanding of early adolescent social, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to integrate Jewish values and learning into experiential and community-based programming.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Professional judgment, flexibility, and maturity in navigating complex community dynamics.
  • Commitment to a pluralistic, inclusive Jewish educational environment.

Standard On-Campus Hours
Start: M - F by 7:45 AM
End: M - Th 3:30 PM, F 2:30 PM
*All schedules are subject to change.
SALARY RANGE: $77,000 - $87,000 (annually)
