Student Discipline Administrator Jobs (NOW HIRING)

TITLE:      Dean of Students

CLASSIFICATION: Site Administrator 

REPORTS TO:  Principal 

SUMMARY:
The Dean of Students assists the Principal and administrative team in maintaining a safe, orderly and positive school environment that supports student success. Under the supervision of the Principal, the Dean of Students, is responsible for the coordination, implementation and oversight of campus discipline procedures, student behavior management and related due process practices in accordance with District policies and regulations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Confer with parents, faculty, staff, administration, and others to address and resolve student disciplinary and behavioral concerns.
2. Process and manage student referrals related to discipline, attendance, and due process matters.
3. Implement and enforce the District's student discipline policies and procedures consistently, equitably and in accordance with District guidelines.
4. Support the maintenance of a safe, orderly and disciplined school environment conductive to learning. 
5. Respond to student behavioral concerns and support appropriate interventions to address individual disciplinary needs. 
6. Assist in organizing, administering and supporting effective campus discipline systems and procedures
7. Ensure all disciplinary practices and procedures comply with State and District policies, regulations and guidelines. 
8. Communicate and collaborate effectively with students, parents, staff, administration and community stakeholders regarding student discipline and behavioral expectations. 
9. Support and facilitate due process procedures related to student disciplinary actions.
10. Maintain, monitor and analyze student discipline data, trends and reports to support effective student discipline practices and systems. 
11. Refer students and parents to appropriate school and community resources to address behavioral, attendance and disciplinary issues. 
12. Support the implementation of the District's vision and mission through effective student discipline practices and systems.
13. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.

EDUCATION:
Master's degree preferred, with coursework or concentration in educational administration, educational leadership, supervision, or a related field.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid Arizona teaching certificate required.
Valid Arizona administrative certification preferred; or enrollment in an educational leadership or administrative certification program within six (6) months of hire, with successful completion expected within the timeframe required to meet K8 education administrative certification requirements.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience and/or other directly related experience.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
    Ability to model commitment and dedication to work.
    Ability to support the functions of the school including student discipline and other supervisory duties as assigned by the principal.
    Ability to assist the principal and administrative team in the overall administration of the school.
    Ability to keep current on changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing concerns of mutual interest with others in the field.
    Ability to attend extracurricular activities scheduled during the day or in the evening.
    Ability to instill and promote quality instructional programs in the school and to ensure high levels of achievement from all students.
    Ability to approach student discipline from a perspective of learning and incorporation restorative practices whenever possible.
    Work with technology/computer systems especially as they relate to the teaching and learning process and discipline data.
    Ability to implement and follow all District health and safety policies.
    Ability to be flexible to change in a productive and positive manner, meeting deadlines as assigned.
    Work independently and without supervision, and complete work in an efficient manner.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ten-month, Site Administrator Salary Schedule, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

EVALUATION:
Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of administrative staff.
