Job description

SUMMARY:

Campus Store Assistant

This position is responsible for assisting with daily services and operations of the Bookstore.

Order Fulfillment

This position is responsible for monitoring and fulfilling all orders placed through the Davenport University Spirit Store and Voucher Online web sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. With a positive and professional attitude at all times, provide exceptional customer service to staff, faculty, and visitors, which includes anticipating and exceeding their needs
  2. Assist customers with purchases and returns, using the Bookstore's point-of-sale system.
  3. Create and set up store displays and maintain store appearance by restocking & reorganizing merchandise
  4. Set up and execute sales at University events located on campus
  5. Provide input for buying apparel and merchandise
  6. Verify and check in merchandise received
  7. Fulfill and ship all online orders
  8. Record tracking numbers, handle charges, and contact customers when issues arise
  9. Verify the correct merchandise is shipped out, handle any returns
  10. Monitor stock levels and notify Bookstore Marketing and Online Sales Manager and the Inventory Coordinator when levels need to be updated
  11. Assist Bookstore Marketing and Online Sales Manager with web site maintenance.
  12. Assist with store coverage during peak Bookstore sales periods
  13. Transport merchandise between University locations and local vendors
  14. Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
  15. Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values
  16. Secure all Bookstore assets by focusing on product security, accurate cash handling, and reporting integrity
  17. Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned
