Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Building Manager. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director, this position under general guidance and direction provides maintenance and service of grounds and facilities.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following.
  • Responsible for the proper opening and closing of the Golden Dome and Frederick Douglass Field
  • Assists the Facilities Director with the operation of the Golden Dome and Frederick Douglass Field
  • Ensures student workers attend their scheduled-time and station
  • NCAA game set-up and break down / game day operation
  • Game-day ticket sale/record keeping
  • Manage internal and external rental events

$18.50 - $25.00 per hour

Minimum Education and Experience
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing.
  • Must be able to multitask and handle a diverse range of responsibilities
  • Requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong computer literacy
  • Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the University community
