The Difference You Make:
The Associate, GTB Product Specialist, under the supervision of the Corporate & Investment Banking Head of Trade Select, will have responsibility for the origination, structuring and execution of mandates obtained for Global Transaction Banking Trade products.
  • Identify opportunities and successfully sell innovative GTB solutions to new-to-bank clients.
  • This initiative will target the expansion of Santander's portfolio of clients in the US and will be part of GTB's Trade Origination Team
  • Act as secondary banker and product specialist for products under the GTB scope
  • Act as advisor, consultant, and first point of contact for clients' ongoing GTB needs
  • Manage client journey from sales through implementation, and act as escalation point of contact
  • Manage the relationship between Santander and its clients including but not limited to managing the application and allocation of the bank's credit risk appetite
  • Achieve business through developing new relationships and by maintaining and enhancing those revenue streams as manage the portfolio going forward
  • Adherence to internal processes to ensure control and transparency over sales activity

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree: in related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Required

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in Trade Finance & Working Capital sales to Corporates and/or experience in client relationship management & development of new to bank relationships
  • Deep understanding of Working Capital and Trade Finance products (Receivables, SCF, Structured Trade, Letters of Credit).
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Business, Finance or equivalent field.
  • Ideally exposure to CIB / Commercial Banking and ability to interface with corporate clients at strategic levels.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, risk evaluation, loan documentation.
  • Perform first line of defense role for the bank across all risks: Financial/ Credit, Legal, Reputational, Regulatory, Compliance, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and leverage professional relationships internally and externally.
  • Superior client relationship, marketing presentation and sales/closing skills.
  • Strong presentation & communication skills to articulate solutions clearly to corporate clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain and demonstrate high ethical standards and personal integrity to build credibility and trust while enhancing the organization's reputation.
  • A self-starter with a forward-thinking mindset and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrates the ability to create strategic plans and lay out a strategic course of action to drive future business growth for a specific product.
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability to quickly learn new software and or systems.
  • Self-starter: forward thinking, with a positive/can-do attitude.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
