Job Description

Senior Credit Risk Officer with approval responsibilities for the structured credit portfolios within Global Capital Markets. The position will be responsible for approving credit risk and monitoring portfolio risks related to U.S. Bank's origination, underwriting and portfolio management activities within broadly syndicated CLO, middle market CLO and Corporate Debt Facilities.

In addition to overall credit approval responsibilities for structured credit, this position will work collaboratively with the business lines to both maintain and ensure compliance with related policies and procedures, monitor and report on risk across the portfolios (including timely determination of risk ratings and ratings migration), ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and identify trends, potential risks and issues and integrate and support new product introductions and market expansions.

  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in economics, finance or accounting, or equivalent work experience.
  • 15 or more years of experience in a credit risk management environment, including experience approving and managing credit risk for a diversified structured credit portfolio.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in credit risk management and credit approval.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of CLO and CDF structures and transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk analysis, structuring and portfolio management skills for assigned portfolios.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business units to increase revenue and grow portfolios while appropriately managing risk
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with business leaders.
  • Considerable understanding of applicable internal policies, laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact banking in general, and specifically the structured credit business.
  • Considerable understanding of the business line's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls.
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
  • Effective skills at managing stressful situations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.
  • Location Requirements This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $186,150.00 - $219,000.00
