We are hiring for one of our trusted clients seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee structural steel fabrication and erection projects from kickoff through completion. Position Summary

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing structural steel fabrication and erection projects from award through final completion. This role oversees schedules, budgets, contracts, submittals, material procurement, production coordination, customer communication, and field support to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.


The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact between customers, detailers, engineers, fabrication personnel, field crews, vendors, and internal departments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•       Manage multiple structural steel projects simultaneously from kickoff through closeout

•       Review project scope, contracts, specifications, and drawings

•       Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone tracking

•       Coordinate detailing, engineering approvals, RFIs, and submittals

•       Monitor fabrication and erection progress to maintain schedule commitments

•       Identify and resolve project issues proactively

Customer & Communication Management

•       Serve as primary contact for general contractors, owners, engineers, and erectors

•       Lead project meetings and provide status updates

•       Maintain strong customer relationships and communication throughout the project lifecycle

•       Coordinate and document all change orders and scope revisions


Production & Fabrication Coordination

•       Coordinate with shop management regarding fabrication schedules and priorities

•       Coordinate material deliveries and release schedules

•       Ensure fabrication drawings and revisions are current and accurate

•       Assist with production planning to maximize efficiency and throughput


Field & Erection Support

•       Coordinate with erection crews and subcontractors

•       Support field issue resolution and schedule adjustments

•       Review field reports and assist with safety and quality compliance

•       Coordinate deliveries, crane schedules, and site logistics when required


Documentation & Quality Control

•       Maintain organized and accurate project documentation

•       Track RFIs, bulletins, revisions, and approvals

•       Ensure compliance with project specifications, AISC standards, and company quality procedures

•       Support project closeout documentation and punch list completion


Qualifications

Education & Experience

•       Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

•       Equivalent industry experience may substitute for formal education

•       Minimum 3 years of experience in structural steel project management preferred

Technical Knowledge

•       Understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices

•       Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

•       Familiarity with AISC standards and steel construction practices

•       Experience with Tekla, SDS/2, Bluebeam, or similar industry software is a plus

Skills & Abilities

•       Strong organizational and multitasking skills

•       Excellent communication and leadership abilities

•       Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

•       Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
