Unite Contracting Solutions is seeking experienced structural / ship fitters with 5 years of verifiable experience in Chalmette, Louisiana. Must pass a blueprint reading test. Hours of work are 8 to 10 hours daily, Monday to Friday. No Per Diem for these structural ship fitter jobs. This fabrication shop is a long-term, permanent job with benefits. Must pass a blueprint reading test at the fabrication shop. This is a permanent, full-time position, and the salary is dependent on experience. Working at a fabrication shop in Chalmette, Louisiana. A Structural Ship Fitter should have expertise in fitting using various metals and materials, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols. The successful structural fitter or ship fitter candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting sketches, and utilizing specialized tools to complete projects efficiently at the fabrication shop, working closely with a welder. We are seeking a structural / ship fitter who can work independently and is highly motivated to deliver high-quality structural work. Structural Ship Fitters at the fabrication site will be working with a welder daily. This is not an offshore job; the items being fabricated are intended for use in an oil refinery or chemical plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal components using fitting techniques.
  • Perform quality control checks on welds.
  • Maintain all required equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment with the welder.

Summary

As a Structural Ship Fitter, you will be integral to the fabrication and assembly of structural components, ensuring they meet precise specifications. Reporting to the Lead Fabricator, you will utilize core skills such as blueprint reading, and power tools to construct durable structures. Your premium skills with your experience on construction sites, will enhance the quality of your work. Your relevant rigging and mechanical skills will also help you move forward effectively. Just to let you know, no TWIC Card is required for this position, reflecting our commitment to safety and compliance in the workplace.
