Our firm offers the opportunity to develop your skills and gain experience working on a wide range of projects across the nation. We are currently seeking a Design Engineer I to work as a structural engineer in our White Bear Lake office. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of experience in structural engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design of buildings and miscellaneous support structures under the supervision of a licensed structural engineer
  • Read and interpret project plans, specifications, shop drawings and other construction documents
  • Provide clients with efficient engineering design that adheres to the jurisdiction's current building codes and standards
  • Will learn to think critically about unique structures and their solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering within 3 months
  • Undergraduate coursework must show emphasis in structural design
  • Strong project organization and management skills
  • Solid interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Engineering-in-training (EIT) certificate, or the ability to obtain within one year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structural analysis software (such as Abacus, RISA or STAAD)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD design software, REVIT
