As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will lead the sourcing strategy for key spend categories, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver value through cost efficiency, innovation, and supply assurance. Develop Strategic Sourcing Plans: Utilize strategic sourcing methodology to build category strategies, source suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance using total cost of ownership (TCO) models.Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders across departments to align sourcing strategies with business needs and create synergies that drive value across the organization.Lead Supplier Innovation & Improvement: Work proactively with suppliers to implement continuous improvement initiatives and adopt emerging technologies that deliver long-term competitive advantages.Identify and Execute Cost-Saving Initiatives: Collaborate with operations and procurement operations teams to implement cost-reduction programs and manage cost model strategies with key suppliers.Lead Sourcing Projects: Oversee cross-functional teams through sourcing processes and project management initiatives that support supply chain and operations goals.Build Strategic Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners to identify sourcing opportunities and execute long-term strategies focused on measurable cost savings and process improvements.Leadership: Drives a positive employee experience through leadership by way of employee development and coaching.WHAT WE'RE SEEKING: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.Leadership & Project Management: 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management, staff development, or project leadership.Contract Negotiation Expertise: Proven experience negotiating contracts and developing negotiation strategies across a broad range of corporate services.Strategic Sourcing Knowledge: Strong experience applying strategic sourcing methodology and managing end-to-end sourcing processes.Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, or mentor others and influence cross-functional stakeholders, requiredTechnology Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP.Process & Procurement Knowledge: Familiarity with strategic sourcing techniques including value stream management, lean principles, and buying theories.Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent experience preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent experience preferred. The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 - $120,000 annually. Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate's qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay for comparable positions and budget considerations.
